Welcome to Y4

Miss Parkinson and Miss Blackledge

Our P.E days are Tuesday and Thursday, please make sure that kit is in school on these days and that all earrings are taken out. 

Brass lessons take place each Wednesday.

Please make sure that you bring the instrument into school each Wednesday and remember practise makes perfect…

Homework is given out on Friday and expected back to be returned to school completed by the following Friday.  Spellings are given out every Monday and the spelling test will take place on Friday.

We have two fabulous home learning resources, TTRockstars and Reading plus. Both of these resources help accelerate learning in a fun way and each week challenges are set, which support progress at an individual level. We have displays in the classroom to celebrate our work, please ask your children about them, whilst encouraging them to go on the resources for 30 minutes three times a week. 

Reading and times tables are an important focus in our class. We try and read with each child in class at least once a week and the children have a challenge of reading five times weekly with an adult at home. We also have times table challenges and guide your child on specific tables to focus on at home. The challenges will lead to further points and prizes in class as well as improve the reading and times tables ability in our class.

In Year 4, we are all important and are valued and are committed to making each and every one of our friends feel this way.
