School Prospectus

Our school prospectus is currently being updated.

Here is some key information:

  • The timings of the school day are: Morning registration - 8:45am / End of the school day 3:15pm (Nursery morning session - 8:45am - 11:45am / Afternoon session - 12:10pm - 3:10pm). Pupils in Reception to Year 6 attend school for a total of 32.5 hours per week.
  • Our Early Years Foundation Stage operates a free flow play system so there are no timetabled playtimes during the day. Key Stage 1 and 2 children have a morning break and KS1 children have an additional afternoon break.
  • We try to keep you as up to date with information and news as possible. There is a weekly newsletter which is published on the school website. We also have a parent text facility and each class has a Twitter feed.
  • One of the closest links we develop is with our parents and carers. Regular opportunities are planned for you to meet formally with class teachers throughout the year. There are other, less formal occasions such as sharing assemblies when you are welcome to visit your child’s class.
  • Please ensure that your child arrives to school every day at the correct time. In cases of absence due to illness the school should be notified by 9:00am.
  • The school offers an informal Breakfast and After School Club. Breakfast Club is from 8:15am and After School Club is open until 4:45pm. For more information please contact the school office.
  • There are drinking fountains available throughout the school but we also encourage children to bring in a water bottle which they keep with them in the classroom.
  • We have a House system which is designed to promote a sense of community across the school and to enable the oldest and youngest to join together in a common aim. Teaching and non-teaching staff also belong to a House, with the exception of the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher who need to remain impartial. Children elect their House and Vice Captains at the start of each academic year.
  • Our school uniform is available to purchase from Slater's School Uniform and Top Marks Uniform. We have a large stock of pre-owned uniform, parents can contact the school office to enquire.
