Statement of Intent
At Beech Hill Community Primary School, our computing curriculum is ambitious and engaging and provides the opportunity for all children, irrespective of their skills, background, or any additional needs, to acquire the knowledge and skills to succeed and stay safe in a world that is becoming increasingly reliant on computer technology. Through the provision of an engaging, exciting and challenging curriculum we aim to inspire pupils to develop skills beyond the classroom and build an awareness of all the opportunities the subject provides.
The curriculum we follow ensures pupils learn computing skills from the three recognised aspects of computing: computer science, information technology and digital literacy within each year of their primary education. This means that pupils will build upon skills and concepts they established from the previous year and develop them further in the current and subsequent year.
