Doing our best today for a brighter tomorrow

Welcome to Owl Class- Year 3

Welcome to Owl Class website!

In year 3 we will give out a homework task on a Friday. This will be a prior learning task or a research activity around the topic we are studying. A Google Classroom task may also be given.

Spellings will be giving out on a Monday and the spelling test will be on a Friday morning. Your child's spellings will be Year 3 spelling words or spelling patterns that they should be confident with by the end of year 3. It is vital homework is completed weekly to enhance your child's learning to the very best it can be! Class dojo points will be given out for homework.

Swimming will be every Wednesday and PE will be every Friday so please ensure your child has full P.E kit and pumps in school each week, we will send full P.E kits home at the end of every half term.

Reading books will be changed as soon as your child has completed the book and it is important that children bring their reading bags to school every day. Please try to share your child's reading book daily and make a comment in their new planner every week. Class dojo points will also be given out for reading. We will be reading with children in school and use planners to communicate about reading where possible.

Don't forget to log onto Reading Plus and Timestables Rockstars, the log in details are stuck in the back of your child's planner. These programmes are a fun way to work on your maths, reading and spelling skills.

In class we are currently challenging children on their times table recall so please help your child by doing times tables at home and encouraging extra sessions on TT Rockstars.

We are looking at electricity this half term so your child may be testing you on your knowledge of circuits and symbols.

We are reading The Wild Robot in class and basing our English work on this.

A good game to play to enhance your child's learning in Geography can be found on
