At Beech Hill Primary School, we recognise the importance of oracy to foster confident communicators with the power to articulate their ideas and emotions, and to speak and listen in a variety of contexts, adapting talk for a range of purposes and audiences.
With the support of Voice 21 we aim to provide a high-quality oracy education in which every voice is valued. Opportunities to learn to talk and to learn through talk are carefully planned into the curriculum, giving pupils the chance to practice and develop skills across the four strands of oracy; physical, linguistic, cognitive and social and emotional. We also encourage our wider community to engage in purposeful talk outside the classroom to continue to harness these skills and support the development of effective communicators.
At BHCP, we want our children to Be Heard, Clear and Proud!
